From signup to live event in ten minutes
This guide walks through every step of setting up a Loe event - from creating your organization to checking in attendees on the day.
Create your organization
After signing up, name your organization and choose a URL slug. This slug becomes part of your event URLs (e.g. loe.run/your-org). Pick something recognizable - you can always update the display name later, but slugs are permanent.
Create an event
From your dashboard, click New Event. Fill in the name, date and time, location, and a short description. None of this is final - you can edit everything before publishing. Save as a draft and come back.
Add ticket types
Ticket types control who can register and what they pay. Add at least one. Set a name (e.g. "General Admission"), a price (0 for free events), and a capacity. Enable approval mode if you want to manually confirm each registration.
Add custom fields
If you need information beyond the default name and email, add custom fields. These appear on the registration form in the order you define. Common fields: vehicle make/model, t-shirt size, dietary needs, photo upload. Mark fields required only when you truly need them - every required field increases drop-off.
Connect Stripe (paid events only)
Go to Settings > Billing and click Connect Stripe. This walks you through Stripe's onboarding. Once connected, payments from registrations go directly to your Stripe account. Skip this step if your event is free.
Preview and publish
Use the Preview button to see your registration page as an attendee would. When it looks right, flip the event status to Live. Your registration page is immediately accessible at your organization URL. Share it.
Manage registrations
Registrations appear in your admin dashboard in real time. If you enabled approval mode, approve or reject from the Registrations tab - approved attendees get notified and payment is captured. If you didn't enable approval, registrations confirm immediately.
Check in on the day
On event day, open the check-in page from your dashboard. Every confirmed registration has a unique QR code in their confirmation email. Scan it on any phone - no app required. The check-in page shows the attendee's name and ticket type.
